Fist Team 20/06/2009

Old Blues V Huntly Thistle. Waipuna Park... Result 1-2. Well it was a fairly poor performance from the boys this weekend. Huntly showed up and came to play, we controlled the lions share of the football, but really couldnt do anything constructive with it. In the end a penatly and a freak long range effort was enough for huntly to take all three points. Not Great.

Second team 20/06/2009

The second team keep marching on, they have beaten Plains Rangers from Bay 1, a league above this week in the tasman cup with a 4-2 victory over Plains Rangers (Edgecombe).

We did score all but one of the goals and even had our usual one disallowed by just some stunning official decisions.. Player called offside by opposing linesman.. off side player some 40 m from ball.. go figure.

Andy Leggit has finally managed to catch up with the rest of the back line and has scored a stunning OG from a header...

The field was an absolute diaster with the grass about 0.5m long and the local bogans having used it as a burnout pad the night before, so the level of play suffered somewhat. It would be fair to say that 4 - 2 flattered Rangers as we should have done them like a dinner, their only goal coming from a rare defensive cock up on our part. (Apart from the OG that is)

It should have been 3-2 in normal time but scotland chav boy missed a penatly in the last minute. Tony Don Two Goals, what a machine. Good Shizzle

Good result, shows we should be able to foot it quite nicely in Div1 next year if manage to carry on in our current manner.
